The McOpen

The McOpen is a charity golf outing established to fund scholarships for students needing financial assistance to attend college or a trade school.

The scholarships awarded from the fund are in memory of Gary McCarter, who was a firm believer in education, helping others, and enjoying time with family and friends.

Red Hawk Golf Club is the site for the annual event because it was the course where Gary played his last round of golf with his sons, before succumbing to the effects of Alzheimer's.

McOpen Charities is a 501(c)3 charity and all donations and golf registrations (less the fair market value of the event) are fully deductible for tax purposes.
